It has been forever since I posted. I tell you, as much as I bitch about them, myspace and facebook make me forget about our old friend livejournal. LJ was my first! I feel like I'm cheating on it sometimes.
Anyway, not much new. School takes most of my time, and I am finally about one semester from graduation.
My uncle is selling me his rebel xti for $400. That going to save me a ton of cash.
I cannot believe Christmas is here already. Another year gone.

Wow.
I know I hadn't posted on LJ in quite a while, I just never realized how long it was.
Anyone still use this thing? I may actually start to use it again. I need an outlet. Let's see...
Last night, Jamie, Nash, and myself had to go pick up Jamie's wife from downtown. I had to frive Jamie's truck. Yeah, fog, at 3am, is an awesome driving experience. That's sarcasm, by the way. Throw in the fact that downtown is so close to the Mississippi River, and it makes it even better. There were a alot of goths and vampires out by the edge of the quarter. It looked like a page out of an Anne Rice book.
D and Julie's wedding is coming up. Should be fun. The hall they rented is nice. It's somewhere in the Bywater I think. I've been elected to snap photos. Kind of nervous, but Julie bought some real nice film I suggested. Chris George, I may need help with a technical issue before it takes place.
For the most part 2006 sucked balls. Well, not totally. I'll say 55% suckage, 45% cool. Maybe even 60/40%. In no particular order of sucks/cool---there was Vegas, twice. Hollywood and Santa Monica (on the first Vegas trip), which I really liked. Multiple friends got married. I went broke for a while. Almost lost it a few times. Finally became a junior. Lost my dog. Met some really cool people. Lost touch with some really cool people. Saw the evil of heroin ( not me.) Joined the gym. Finished fixing up the house, from the storm, almost took a year. Maybe i'll add more...I'm sort of fuzzy on all of it.
I've become a fan of wine. Don't really know how or when, but I really like it. Pinot Grigio is probably my favorite, followed by Pinot Noir. Whatever it is I drank on Camp St was good, but maybe that was beacause it took so much effort to get the cork out, it just seemed really, really tasty.
The Saints....I'm at a loss for words. I'm also really anxious. I don't think the rest of America know what this would mean, if we were to go to the Big Game...ok, enough, I can't jump to far ahead on that one.
I've also become quite a fan of Asian cinema. This was kind of 2005, but I did see a lot more films in 2006. If you've never seen Oldboy , I highly reccomend it. Some other good ones I have seen is Ichi the killer, Audition, Battle Royal, and Ong Bak. Ong Bak features Tony Jaa. This kid is the next Bruce Lee. I got to see a lot of the Wu Tang flicks. It's funny to see the characters the musical group gets their names from.
Confused? I'm always confused. I analyze to much. Work, school, love, death. It's too much to think about sometimes.
Ok. Off to bed.

It is now officiall day 16 of my unwilling citizenship in Texas. Not that Humble isn't a nice place. It'd only 20 minutes from houston, and the people are nice. I just want to go home. I want to return to normal, but i know it won't be normal. Being home would be somewhat normal. 99.9% of my friends are accounted for. I did lose a cousin 2 days after the storm. She had stomach cancer, and was doing ok.
Went to bed at the hospital and didnt wake up, but she was smiling, so I think she was ready to go.
I'm down to my last 25 bucks, but I think we have insurance money and Fema(boo!) money, but i mean my own pockets have 25$ in them. I feel bad for taking discounts, and its not even like i do it intentionally. I open my wallet to pay and they see my ID. I feel guilty. like im asking for a handout. My future in my beloved(new orleans) is uncertain, i'm just sort of torn. Thanks for all the support the few of you have given me, and if you donated i will make it a goal to personally thank each and everyone of you to your face.
just saw the news, some houston kids threw a can at some new orleans kids starting school today. the new orleans kids beat the shit out of them. it's kinda heartwarming. they shouldnt have to put up with that shit, but i dont know the whole story, so maybe i'm wrong.

I'm alive. I'm in texas, not sure when we can return home. tv has become my only contact with my fair city. this sucks, plain and simple people. All of us natives are either homeless, or way in other states. from the looks of it, i dont see how we can ever get back to how we were..at least not soon.
i ask any of you who do not live in mississipi or new orleans, consider making a donation. we need it.
to all the people i know in real life on here, let me know you are ok. if anyone who reads this wants to text me, feel free, it will pass the time and take my mind of things.5044304149 is the #.

ah..another year gone by, another mardi gras gone, another rare post.
I decided to take my newly purchased Canon ae-1(from ebay) and try to document the day.
I really like the pic below. The color is rather nice, and the depth of field came out nicely, also.
I think this pic speaks many words too, well for those of you that live here, you know what i mean.
except if you are one of the few people i know on here who do not like mardi gras. I won't mention names.
I caught 5 this year, and all went well. Endymion and Orpheus were probably the most fun. If I wasnt so sick it would have been great, but I didn't let it get in the way. I had plenty of fun in between sneezes. Oh well, take care.
